Escape the city with a quick drive west of Chicago and you’ll quickly find yourself amongst fellow fall-lovers at Keller’s Farmstand. The course meanders through the orchard on soft, flat paths. You’ll breeze by hundreds of apple trees unveiling dozens of varietals. As you carry on, you’ll pass through the pumpkin patch before finishing your run amongst autumn-hued rows of corn. Cool down with crisp apple cider and snap a photo with your medal at the finish line!
There's a bunch of reasons why you should sign up now rather than wait. Here's 6 of 'em:
Running is great but is always better when others tag along! Create a team with 4+ friends and each team member saves $5.
Add on the Tough Pumpkin® challenge and we’ll supply you with a pumpkin to run with. Cross the finish line with it and you’ll receive the exclusive Tough Pumpkin medal in addition to your regular finisher medal!
Get all the nitty gritty details so you’ll be ready to shine on race morning!
The earlier you sign up the better. Get the best price and secure your preferred wave time!
Fall Frenzy Pricing 9/6-10/1: $44
Race Morning: $49
Parking is complimentary and held at the orchard, just steps away from the start line. Please help minimize traffic by carpooling with a friend if possible.
We suggest arriving at least an hour prior to your wave start time. For example, if you signed up for the 9:10AM wave, you should arrive no later than 8:10AM.
Create or join a team with 4+ friends and each team member will save $5! Here’s how it works:
1) When this first person goes to sign up, they can choose to create a team.
2) That person is the designated team captain. He or she will enter a group name and password. The team captain can continue with his or her registration.
3) Once the team captain has signed up, they can share the team name and password so others can join. Please note that the team captain does not have to sign everyone up. Rather, each member can sign up and join the team to pay for their own registration, all while still receiving $5 off!
The official Participant Guide can be found by clicking here!
You have three options to receive your packet:
Mail My Packet: Add this on during registration for a nominal fee and we’ll ship your packet to you. This way, you can park and head straight to the start line on race morning!
Friday Night: Swing by the orchard the night before the race from 4-7PM to grab your packet. This will help avoid any race day lines and make race morning even easier!
Race Day: Race day packet pick-up will be held at the orchard beginning at 7AM. If waiting until race morning, we suggest arriving at least an hour prior to your wave start time. For example, if you signed up for the 9:10AM wave, you should arrive no later than 8:10AM.
We are thrilled with where we are as a nation in terms of returning back to events. As of August 2021, we are full speed ahead and ready to bring back the race experience you’ve come to love: smiling faces, energetic environment, and a smooth experience from start to finish!
Your registration includes ‘Flexible Registration’. Once signed up, you can easily switch to a different location, transfer to the Virtual Run, or even defer to 2022, all free of charge! Check out our blog post, ‘Gourdy’s Approach to Events’, to learn what to expect, how Flexible Registration works, important cut-off dates, and more!
Outdoor events have been considered extremely safe by many studies. While we are excited to be back in person this fall, we also understand that some people aren’t quite ready to toe the start line. We offer the Virtual Run so you can keep the fall tradition alive from the comfort of your own neighborhood. Get those details here!
During registration, you’ll need to choose a wave. Waves are small groups and have designated start times which are spaced out every ten minutes beginning at 8:00AM and ending at 10:30AM.
Not sure what wave is best for you? No worries! We suggest choosing one now as you can always edit it later. Waves are limited in size, so signing up today provides the largest choice in wave start time!
Absolutely! In fact, about 1/3 off all participants choose to walk the course. You’ll have a bunch of support and we’ll be waiting for you at the finish line to cheer you on!
